Celebrate the Holidays at The Mondavi Center

Mondavi Center Ushers and Yuri Rodriguez, house/events manager.

The holiday season is one of the best times to visit The Mondavi Center. In addition to our many holiday programs, you’ll find our lobby a festive place to enjoy one of our special holiday beverages (such as a cup of Irish Coffee) before the show.
Each year around Thanksgiving, The Mondavi Center front of house team assembles a holiday decorating crew. This year three of our volunteer ushers joined us for an afternoon of decorating and goodies. The production department also chipped in by providing a lift to help volunteers hang the wreath.
Longtime patrons might have noticed a rotating pattern in the holiday decorations. This season the wreath and garlands have a blue and silver theme, next year we will return to the red and gold decorations.
We have two remaining holiday programs this season featuring some of our favorite artistic partners, the American Bach Soloists and the San Francisco Symphony. The American Bach Soloists Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 16 at 4 p.m., a break from their annual Messiah tradition, is filled with Baroque Christmas favorites. The San Francisco Symphony Family Concert on Friday, December 21 at 7 p.m. features the Oscar-nominated short film The Snowman, based on the book by Raymond Briggs, played with live musical accompaniment. The symphony is joined by the Pacific Boychoir, and the program also includes a fun holiday sing-along for the entire family.

Some of our ushers really get into the holiday spirit.

  1. The event must be one of a kind, since I see that many people helped out in putting up the exhibit. Hopefully next time, I could go and see for myself the type of the artistry they've presented in this event cause you know, I'm fond of appreciating art pieces visually or of any kinds.
